Germ Class with Nurse Mary

Nurse Mary came into our classroom and taught us about germs, catching a cough in your elbow, blowing your nose with a tissue and hand washing.  

See how the soap makes the pretend germs disperse.  Thanks for teaching us how to stay healthy Nurse Mary.

Farm

We will begin our unit on farm next week and continue it until the end of October.  

During the farm unit we will be learning about:

• Who & What lives on a farm
• Drawing people and plants
• Seasons
• Weather
• Phases of the moon
• Measurement

We recently added a smart computer to try out in out classroom.  Children are signing in, drawing and beginning to understand how technology can be a tool in learning.  

Below students created pictures making circles and drawing after watching the story 10 Black Dots.

Touring the school

This week we read the story of the Ginger Bread Boy and chased him around the school.  While we chased the Gingerbread Boy we also had the opportunity to tour our school and meet the staff at the ECDC.  Here are a few pictures of some of the students on a tour of the school.

Welcome Friends

Hello
It was a great first week for all!  While we had a few tears most students were able to begin to learn the classroom routine and enjoy eating snack, playing at dramatic play, trains and even made an art project.

This week we were focused on 2 stories:  The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn & Mouses First Day of School
